The Journal of Petroleum Science and Technology (JPST) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal affiliated with the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI). The journal publishes Research Articles, Review Papers, and Research Notes in English and provides a platform for the dissemination of scientific and technological advances in petroleum and natural gas engineering and related disciplines.
JPST publishes research covering petroleum and natural gas exploration, petroleum geology, geochemistry, geophysics, petrophysics, remote sensing, reservoir engineering, production and treatment, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), separation processes, refining, catalysts and chemical additives, hydroconversion, energy and environment, nanotechnology, biotechnology, polymer science and engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and water and wastewater treatment in petroleum industries.
The journal is published quarterly in print and electronic formats and follows a double-blind peer-review process. An initial technical and editorial check is conducted before peer review.
JPST is an open-access journal and does not charge authors article processing or publication fees. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.
The journal is evaluated by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and received an A evaluation rating in 2024.
